Role Summary

The ideal candidate for this Senior Embedded Engineer role would be a perfect hybrid of an electrical engineer and an embedded firmware engineer. The nature of the work at Kablooe Design requires agility and adaptability to flex and meet a variety of client needs. As a key member of the design and development team at Kablooe, you will collaborate with other team members to design and implement solutions to a wide variety of customer and end user problems. Recognizing our roots in design, you will have a unique opportunity to blend deep technical expertise in embedded engineering with creativity and user centered design.

Job Function

  • Implement rapid functional prototypes for user studies and client feedback.
  • Architect, design, implement, verify, validate, debug and support embedded hardware and software systems.
  • Help define and implement electrical and software engineering standards and processes.
  • Select and maintain tools and utilities for individual projects and for the entire organization.
  • Be a part of the growing systems engineering team developing software and electronics for both medical devices and consumer products.
  • Work on a wide variety of client projects at different stages of the product development lifecycle from early research stages to fielded product design updates.
  • Our fast-paced environment demands the ability to manage multiple projects within various disciplines and deadlines. High-energy, self-starters with flexibility to multi-task and perform a wide range of activities will be successful.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar technical degree
  • 5+ years of experience with embedded systems development
  • Embedded software in C/C++

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bare metal, RTOS, and/or embedded Linux environments
  • Broad array of embedded platforms, processors, peripherals
  • Variety of development tools including: JTAG debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic Analyzers, software version control (Like Perforce, GIT) and bug tracking systems
  • PCB design, layout, assembly, and test experience (Altium Designer experience preferred)
  • Experience with ISO 13485, IEC 62304, FDA design controls or similar regulatory environment
  • Working knowledge with wireless connectivity and IoT

Work Environment

Kablooe values its collaborative and creative environment and its employees. This position will primarily work from the studio in north suburbs of Minneapolis. The studio is a fun and collaborative environment, but supports that all employees have a life outside the studio and balances studio time with opportunities to work flexible hours and remotely as life requires it.
