Tom KraMer is a product development expert with over 30 years of experience (which is a nice way of saying he’s getting up there in years). He has served as the President of Kablooe Design for the past 16 years, and before that, he held the role of Industrial Design Manager for another 13 years.

Tom loves the product development and design process and is a sought-after expert on design innovation. He is a regular speaker at MD&M Minneapolis—the region’s most comprehensive medical design and manufacturing event—and author of the book, Innovate the Way You Were Designed To: Using Design Driven Development to Create Products That Connect with Humans.

His designer credits span everything from roller coaster cars at Universal Studios to robotic devices that assist with cardiac surgery. Tom also once provided human factors consulting work on a groundbreaking medical device that improves the BPH surgical procedure—a surgery he would one day require. And yes, he requested the doctors use his device and it performed remarkably!

Tom is a true student of the craft, as evidenced by his Industrial Design Degree from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD), Executive Certificate in Product Development from Northwestern University, and Graduate Certificate in Biodesign from Stanford University.
